Berlin Survey of Work-Relevant Basic Competencies of Students with Special Educational Needs in "Learning" (BELLA)

The project dealt with the topic of improving pedagogical quality in schools with the funding focus on learning, schools with joint teaching and vocational schools. The study recorded the knowledge levels and backgrounds of students (N=4,481) with the help of performance tests and questionnaires. Within the scope of the study – performed in the summer of 2006 - standardised performance tests for general mathematics and German, a test for obtaining information from so-called "discontinuous texts", a test for solving problems, a test for technical understanding and a test for economic understanding were used. The cognitive abilities of the participating students were measured using the short form of the language-free intelligence test CFT 20. Attitudes and assessments towards school and teaching criteria as well as work in the student companies were recorded using a general questionnaire specially developed for this study and a student company questionnaire. Documentation

Here you can find further documentation:

In the BELLA study, as well as in the ELEMENT and LABEL studies - which are also available at the FDZ at IQB - the same test instruments (originally developed for LAU 5) were used. This results in new analysis potential for the above-mentioned studies in the context of integrative data analysis. We will be happy to advise you on this.
