We have your data! đź”—

Here are 7 details on how to use our data

  • The data may only be used for non-commercial scientific research and teaching.
  • Students can also use our data for qualification papers.
  • We only provide anonymised data. This means that no personal references can be made. School names, regional codes and place names are removed from the data.
  • We offer different data products (Scientific Use Files and Campus Use Files) with different access methods (off-site and remote).
  • Blank data, scaling manuals, publication lists, final reports and other accompanying materials are available on our study pages without the need to submit a data usage request.
  • We also provide data collected as part of the overall strategy for education monitoring in Germany (IQB National Assessment Studies and Trends in Student Achievement, PISA and PISA-I-Plus, IGLU and TIMSS, DESI). This data is subject to special terms of use, which are set out in our rules of procedure. These regulations separately govern access to information about the federal states and measures of cognitive abilities.
  • If your research project involves new and previously unpublished comparisons between federal states, you should expect a longer processing time. Your application must undergo a scientific review process. Details can be found in the regulations regarding novel comparisons between federal states.
